The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。剧情看似异想天开，其实也写出了一些精明的人趁机混水摸鱼。继《再见女郎》之后，擅长以喜剧方式讽刺大都市荒谬人际关系的导演赫伯特．罗斯再度推出此片，也是男主角迈克尔．Ｊ．福克斯《回到未来》后又一轰动之作。迈克尔．J．福克斯在片中饰演从肯萨斯州到纽约谋业的青年布雷特，只能在一家国际贸易集团充当送信小弟，但也因此近水楼台听到了不少公司的内幕。当一名高级主管职位出缺而没有补人时，布雷特干脆利用他的办公室擅自发号施令，成为隐身的主管，甚至引起老板娘对他垂涎。导演赫伯特．罗斯把这部主要发生在企业大楼内的办公室喜剧拍得还算生动流畅，对职场生态尤多嘲讽。不过主要的吸引力还是来自福克斯的表演，他将当代年轻人渴望一步登天而不惜冒险的处世态度演得活灵活现，甚能引人共鸣。。另一种视野的越战电影当然，越战不只是发生在地面上的作战，空中也有相当值得以电影描写的场景。1988年有一部相当知名的越战电影，也是军事迷普遍相当熟悉杰作－【野狼呼叫21】（BAT 21）。这部电影，由著名硬汉演员金哈克曼（Gene Hackman）饰演一位真实人物空军上校I. Hambleton。这位Hambleton上校当年在美国空军，是一位空中压制（SEAD）作战的「领航者」（Navigator）专家，特长是侦测北越防空飞弹阵地，并且将目标传给野鼬部队（Wild Weasel）的F-105进行反辐射攻击，这在当年是相当先进且机密的战术，所以Hambleton也是越军急欲追缉的目标。 1972年4月2日复活节当天的一次任务中，Hambleton的EB-66电子反制机被SAM-2飞弹击落，Hambleton惊险逃生之后，遂在地面展开与越共间的猫捉老...。
