电影《海的尽头是草原》根据历史上“三千孤儿入内蒙”的真实事件改编：上世纪五十年代末，新中国遭遇严重自然灾害，大批南方孤儿面临营养不足的危机。在这个关头，内蒙古自治区党委、政府主动向中央请缨，本着“接一个，活一个，壮一个”的原则，将近3000名孤儿接到了大草原上，交给淳朴善良的牧民们收养。在这里，远离家乡的孩子们将要学着融入新的环境和家庭，面对新的家人。而他们所有的不安与伤痛，都将被感天动地的人间大爱一一化解。。Alaska Rose has had a difficult few years since her mom left the family four years prior| acting out, rebelling against her single dad, Conner, getting into trouble in school and worse.
