The family itself encapsulates the culture clash that is at the cen...。英国源源不断的鸦片输入令道光皇帝感到江山岌岌可危，虽害怕列强，他还是下诏委派湖广总督林则徐（鲍国安）为钦差大臣前往广州禁烟。但腐败官吏与英国商人的勾结将鸦片贸易变得错综复杂，林则徐的禁烟行动从一开始就面临重重困难，英国商人一面假装听命林则徐，一面策划更大的阴谋。道光十九年六月三日，林则徐在虎门海滩指挥销烟，百姓拍手称快。英国回国商人拿此事大做文章，装备精良的英军从珠江口直下塘沽，对华宣战。软弱无能的道光不派兵应战，反把一切怪罪到林则徐头上将他撤职，又派直隶总督琦善（林连昆）为钦差大臣前去与英方讲和，酿成历史悲剧。。
