节子和弟弟群群生活在北京，节子是小学老师，群群是大学的在读生，生活在乡下的父母亲来到北京看望他们，可北京所有的一切并不是他们想象的那样。。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee). Rutherford explains that he owes his current incapacitation to an attack by an inmate.
