深夜在某修车行里，被拖欠了大半年工资的马答向老板萧狐狸讨薪,不料神秘歹徒黑刁闯入修车行，似乎要与他们接头销赃。这让二人不明所以。其实车上还有一名不省人事的壮汉王灞，后备箱里还捆着一位作为人质的美女娜沐薇。深夜的修车行里，这一群各具特色的人物发生了奇妙的命运纠葛……。战国时代，秋月家族战败而没落，勇猛的将军（三船敏郎饰）带领公主雪姬（上原美佐饰）逃窜至荒无人烟之地，试图穿越敌阵携带黄金去往盟国。巧遇上了贪财的贫民甲（千秋实饰）和贫民乙（藤原釜足饰），两人插科打诨笑料不断，在将军的威逼利诱下两人也一同开启了保护公主的重任。但是敌国大将穷追不舍，危难之际公主和将军都将面临生死抉择。该片是乔治·卢卡斯创作《星球大战》最主要灵感，公映以来被公认为黑泽明成就最杰出的作品之一。。In the midst of time comes the clanging of steel against steel, a collision of myth and history....
